Marlin Network Stock Option Training
The Marlin Network had recently become an Employee Stock Option Program. This is typically great news for a company, because every employee becomes a shareholder in the organization and therefore feels a greater stake in the outcome.
Unfortunately, Marlin had a big problem: Employees didn’t understand how the plan worked and were distrustful of it.
We were engaged to help correct this through a live training event and followup materials including a handbook given to all members that placed the reader in an engaging fictional story arc of creativity battling the forces of darkness to teach them real-world concepts about how ESOPs function and what each of their personal responsibilities would be.

The concept needed to feel steeped in deep history and yet connected to present day in order to engage the employees. Thus, we developed a rough guideline of “Harry Potter meets HP Lovecraft,” and walk a fine line between the serious and light-hearted.
We additionally pushed things to the dark and mystical in order to grab the attention of the creatively savvy advertising professionals.
